DFAC Australia Warranty Terms and Conditions – July 2026

Standard DFAC New Truck Warranty – Diesel Trucks

 

  • All DFAC trucks are covered by the standard New Truck Warranty for 7 years or 250,000km

  • The primary “condition” for warranty is that the DFAC Australia service schedule must be adhered to

  • The other conditions are on certain components, also wear and tear items which are not covered, please see explanations below of the “conditions / exceptions” which apply to the warranty

 

First 7 years (from the date of first registration) or 250,000km:
 

DFAC Australia warrants that the vehicle will be free from defects in materials and factory workmanship under conditions of normal use and service within Australia during the period commencing on the date the vehicle is first registered or put into service for any purpose (whichever occurs first) and expiring 7 years later, or until the vehicle has been driven a distance exceeding 250,000km (whichever occurs first), except where items are expressly excluded or for which a separate warranty applies.

 

Any defect must appear, and any claim under this warranty must be made, before the first to occur of either the time or distance limitations.

The Standard New Truck Warranty is subject to the vehicle being serviced in accordance with the service schedule at the specified servicing intervals for the duration of the New Truck Warranty.

 

This warranty is subject to the terms and conditions detailed in the Service and Warranty booklet, including the information set out on the page headed “Explanation of Warranty” and “Owner/Operator Responsibilities”.

 

DFAC Australia shall cooperate with franchised Dealerships in good faith and without unreasonable delay in assessing warranty claims under its obligations with Australia Consumer Law.

 

Conditional Items

  • Glass: Vehicles within 6 months or 10,000km from first registration suffering quality issues with glassware, such as discoloration, optical distortion, air bubbles and delamination caused by material or manufacturing process, will be covered by the Standard New Truck Warranty. Breakage, chips, and cracks will not be covered.

  • Tyres: In case of proper operation in the normal environment, the vehicle (chassis) tyres can be warranted within 6 months or 10,000km only if the failure is due to quality problems such as a bulge, crack or delamination (manufacturing fault).

  • 12-volt Battery: In case of proper operation under the normal environment, the battery is warranted within 12 months or 20,000km if the battery failure is due to any quality issue.

  • Rubber and plastics: Under normal use, for vehicles within 6 months or 10,000 km from date of purchase, rubber (such as seal ring, gasket, O-shape ring etc.) and plastic parts (such as interior trim and exterior trim) are covered by warranty if it is confirmed that quality issues are existing in these parts.

 

 

Items Not Covered

  • Wear and Tear items: Brake pads, brake discs, brake linings (no warranty for parts burned, worn and damaged during use),

  • Expendables: Wiper blades, globes, fuses, various kinds of filter elements, etc.

  • Damage caused by improper use, incorrect maintenance or operation outside of the manufacturers’ recommended purpose.

  • Lubricating grease, coolant, battery electrolyte.

  • All localized parts and components used in KD assembled products (local fit bodies and accessories).

  • Part failures which are deemed by DFAC Australia to be because of improper assembly or adjustment during local accessory or body fit process.
